This year we’re launching our Bake-a-Cake challenge, to be run in conjunction with the Barnoldswick Festival of Food and Drink, along with the World Meat Pie championships. The competition is open to all types of cake, from Victoria sponge to exotic fruit cakes – your imagination is the only limitation! As with the pie competition there will be sections for amateurs and professionals; entry is free, and with your permission we plan to auction the entered cakes off at the end of the event for charity. One thing we would really like to see is “first attempts” – take a look at the video below for some tips and hints on how to get started.
