Barnoldswick is justly renowned for its town centre events – Bands on the Square, St George’s celebrations, the legendary Christmas Lights switch-on – the list goes on. We’ve one or two suggestions here, including some events to put into your calendar, and places to visit in and around the town. There’s another website too, for further local information – https://www.visitbarnoldswick.co.uk/
From the Bancroft Mill website – “Bancroft is a working museum open to the public with free entry most Saturdays throughout the year from 11-3pm. Guided tours are normally Saturdays depending on the availability of volunteers. There is no fixed charge for these but would ask you to make a modest donation to the Trust. Alternatively you may conduct yourselves around the site. The museum is also open and the engine in steam between 1pm and 3.45pm on many Sundays from March through to early December when tours also operate.” It’s an amazing piece of industrial heritage and well worth a visit. Public support is absolutely essential too, to ensure the mill’s future. Visit their site for more details – http://www.bancroftmill.org.uk/
